Pandiraj was born on 7 June 1976 and brought up in Virachilai Township, Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, India. After schooling, In 1996 he moved to Chennai. He worked as an “Office-boy” with director K.Bhagyaraj and his early years, he wrote several short stories for the famous Tamil Bagya. Gradually, his interest in movie making increased, and after hurdles, he got the chance to be an assistant director to filmmaker Cheran and he later worked as an assistant director to Chimbu Deven and Thangar Bachan in six movies.
Career:
Pandiraj is an Indian movie director and producer, who works in Tamil movies. In 2009 His debut movie Pasanga was commercially successful and won several awards, including the National Film Awards for Best Screenplay. Following the success of Pasanga, He directed his second movie, Vamsam with newcomer Arulnithi and Sunaina in the lead roles and the movie, which was produced by Arulnidhi’s father and M.Karunanidhi’s youngest son, M.K.Thamizharasu, and gained positive reviews to this film and went well in the box office. In 2012, He set up his movie production studio named Pasanga productions and his first production was his own directorial Marina which marked the feature movie debut for television anchor and comedian Sivakarthikeyan and the movie received mixed reviews from critics.
In 2013 He directed the next Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga was also produced by him. He distributed his former assistant Naveen’s debut movie Moodar Koodam under his Pasanga Productions Studio. In 2015, He was working on two directorial, a romantic comedy movie, Idhu Namma Aalu starring Silambarasan and Nayantara, and another children’s movie Haiku, produced by actor Suriya.
