After his education, he started working as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam who is a famous director. He started his acting in 2004 as a friend character in the Tamil Movie Aaytha Ezhuthu. Some of his popular movies are Kadaikutty Singam, Kaatru Veliyidai, Oopiri, Komban, madras. He got a film fare award and Tamil Nadu state film award for his acting in the movie Paruthiveeran in 2007.
