Jagapati Babu is an Indian film actor who predominantly works for the Telugu film Industry. He also acted in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada movies also. He is almost 25-30 years senior in the film industry and starred in more than 120 movies receiving 3 Filmfare awards and 7 Nandi Awards. He worked with many famous and well-known filmmakers like K.Raghavendra Rao, Ram Gopal, A.Mani Ratnam, S.V.Krishna Reddy, Krishna Vamsi, V.Satyanarayana, Radha Mohan, Guna Sekhar, Raja, Yeleti Chandra Shekar, and JD Chakravarthy. For his contribution to the cinema, he received Kala Bhushan prize from TSR Lalitha Kala Parishat. Most of his movies were family-related and comedy genres. Most of the movies pairing with Amani were super hits.

He got many family audiences and changed him star image with the movie Subha Lagnam in 1994. Later in 1996, he got Nandi Award for his performance in the movie Maavichiguru. Subhakankshalu and Pelli pnadiri were also super hits. He acquired the Nandi award for his performance in Antahpuram. For the Manoharam movie also he won the Nandi award for his performance.
