Prakash Raj is an Indian film actor cum producer cum director who specifically works for South Indian movies. His name changed from Prakash Rai to Prakash Raj by Director K.Balachandar.

Prakash Raj was born on 26 March 1965 in Bengaluru to Mr.Manjunath Rai and Mrs.Swarnalatha Raj. His mother was supposed to serve as a nurse. His zodiac sign is Aries. He has one brother named Prasad Raj. He completed his schooling from St.Joseph’s Boys High School. He studied at St.Joseph’s College of Commerce in Bengaluru. His mother tongue is Tulu. He married Lalitha Kumari in the year 1994 and separated in the year 2009. Lalitha Kumari is a sister of actress Disco Shanti. He got second marriage with Pony Verma in the year 2010. Career life:

He began his career with Kannada Doordarshan serials like Bisilu Kudure and Guddada Bhoota. Later he slowly came into supporting characters in Kannada movies like Ramachari, Nishkarsha, Lockup Death. He was encouraged and introduced to K.balachandar by Geetha who is a Kannada heroine and from there, his journey started.

He is a very famous actor in South India especially Telugu for is various shades of acting and roles he performs. He is one of the most natural actors in the film industry. His villain character in the blockbuster movie Okkadu brought him many offers which made him act with many major stars and newcomers.

He has been banned by the Telugu industry for six times due to the conspiracy of many fellow actors and filmmakers. He is the owner of production company Duet movies, the name Duet as a remembrance of his first hit movie in a film career.
