He was born on 28 July 1983, better known by his stage name Dhanush, is an Indian film actor, director, writer, Producer, Lyricist, Screenwriter, and Playback Singer who predominantly works in Tamil Cinema. He born to Tamil director and producer Kasthuri Raja, He entered acting after being pressured by his brother, director Selvaraghavan. He completed his schooling in Thai Sathya Matriculation High School, Chennai. He completed his BCA [Correspondence] in Madurai Kamraj University [Distance Education] Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He married Rajinikanth, Aishwarya’s eldest daughter on 18 November 2004. They have two sons named Linga and Yatra who were born in 2006 and 2010. Her Hobbies are Playing Snooker & Table Tennis, Reading Novels, Writing.

In 2002 Dhanush’s first movie was Thulluvadho Ilamai, a coming-of-age movie directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja. Over the last 15 years, He starred in over 25 movies. He then appeared in his brother Selvaraghavan’s first directorial venture Kadhal Kondein and the movie portrayed Dhanush as a mentally-disturbed youth, Vinodh, who yearned for the love of his friend, eventually turning possessive of her. In 2003 His next movie was Thiruda Thirudi. He also appeared in Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan and Ramana’s Sullan and later, he also appeared in Dreams, another movie panned by critics. In 2005 He appeared in Devathaiyai Kanden and later, it was dubbed into Telugu, and in the same year, he also worked on Balu Mahendra’s Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam. He went on to star in the commercial entertainer movie Thiruvilayadal Arambam, romancing Shriya Saran.

In 2007 Dhanush’s first released Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram did not go well. The movie was a remake of the successful Kannada language movie Jogi. In 2009 January his subsequent venture was Suraj’s Padikathavan and his performance was praised and well received. In 2011 His first release, which he had shot for over three years, was Aadukalam, marking his second collaboration with Vetrimaran. His next two ventures were the action movies, Mappillai, a remake of his father-in-law’s same-titled 1989 movie, and Venghai by Hari, which received mixed reviews but was a commercial success. His next movie, Mayakkam Enna, in which he once again collaborated with his brother, casting him with Richa Gangopadhyay and received largely positive reviews. In 2012 His only released three directed by his wife, Aishwarya Rajinikanth with Shruti Haasan. In 2013 He appeared in Maryan opposite Parvathy, which was applauded by critics, but became an above-average grosser at the box office. In 2014 His first movie was Velaiyilla Pattathari, which was also his 25th movie and was directed by Velraj and it received mostly positive reviews and was a success. In 2015 His action-comedy movie Maari, featuring Kajal, Aggarwal, Robo Shankar, and Vijay Yesudas. In 2017 He played a cameo in his directorial debut Power Paandi, which released on 14 April 2017. His movies Maari 2 and Vadachennai, a sequel to Maari, were released in 2019 and Vadachennai was praised by critics while Maari 2 got mixed reviews. In 2019 His next release was a romantic thriller titled Enai Noki Paayum Thota was released on 29 November 2019 after several delays due to financial problems and it received positive reviews.

In August 2013, He was signed by Perfetti India Ltd. He was the brand ambassador for Center Fresh chewing gum. He has made his directorial debut with the movie Power Paandi. He has won and received several nominations at the National Film Award, Filmfare Awards, and Vijay Awards ceremony. Dhanush won the National award for Best Actor in 2011 for hit movie Aadukalam.
