Samuthirakani was born on 26 April 1973 is an Indian film actor and director who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry besides appearing in a number of Telugu and Malayalam movies. Father Pandiyaraj and Mother Lakshmi Ammai. He completed his schooling in T.N.P.M.N.Hr.Sec School.  He completed B.Sc [Mathematics] Bachelor of law in Rajapalayam Raju’s College, Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Gvernment Law College, Chennai. He married Jayalakshmi and they blessed with two children one daughter and one son.

Career:

In 1997, He joined as an assistant director under K.Vijayan and he always used to keep himself busy with work was noticed by K.Balachander and was roped in as assistant director for his 100th movie Paarthale Paravasam. He also Balachander in the mega serial Anni [Tv Serial] telecasted by Jaya Tv Channel. In 2008 M.Sasikumar’s Subramanipuram showcased Samuthirakani as an actor with potential and his own Nadodigal [2009] helped him to prove his mettle as a director. In 2004 He directed two movies such as Neranja Manasu Tamil film and Naalo Telugu movie which was a remake of Unnai Charanadaindhen. In the 2009 Nadodigal Tamil film. As Actor he acted so many films.

The Lukewarm response to his debut movie and the disaster ero-didn’t deter him and if the movie is a hit everyone vies for the laurels. And if the result is negative, it’s the director who has to bear the onus, he shrugs and he went back to television, joined his mentor K Balachanders unit, worked as an assistant director of Ameer for Paruthiveeran and kept himself as busy as ever. In 2011 He sang Vidiya Potri song in Poraali film. He dubbed many films like Pasanga, Aadukalam, Dhoni, Goli Soda, and Kathakali.
