Ramesh Aravind was born on 11 September 1964. He is an Indian actor, director, TV Show host, Screenwriter, Motivational Speaker, and Author. He has been in the entertainment industry for over 25 years and has worked in six languages. He has predominantly worked in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu movies. He married to Archana, and they have a daughter and son Niharika, Arjun.

Career:

He has to his credit 100 Kannada Movies, 30 Tamil movies, 2 Hindi Movies, and 10 Telugu Movies as the leading man. Currently, he is acting as the lead man in three Kannada films – 100, Shivaji Suratkall and Bhairadevi. During his stint at engineering college, he worked as an emcee to award functions, notably as the host of an event celebrating the success of the movie, Sagara Sangamam [1983], where he met his long-term collaborator Kamal Haasan for the first time. He was set to collaborate with the director again in the Tamil movie Manathi Uruthi Vendum [1987], but Balachander later recommended to Ramesh to opt-out of the movie and work on a venture with K.Bhagyaraj instead, to mark his debut in a leading character. The proposed movie was later shelved, and the actor returned to the cast of Manathi Uruthi Vendum, winning critical acclaim for his performance.

Balachander also introduced Ramesh Aravind into Telugu movies through Rudraveena, with the actor having a distinct trait of being introduced into three different movie industries by the same director. He made his breakthrough portraying a student union leader in Vasanth’s romantic drama movie Keladi Kanmani [1990], and the commercial success of the movie meant that he shifted base to Chennai and worked primarily on Kannada and Tamil movies til 1996. He earned critical acclaim in Tamil movie, portraying a love-ridden musician in Balachanders’s Duet [1994] as well as through his performance alongside Kamal Haasan in Balu Mahendra’s comedy movie on marriage, Sathi Leelavathi [1995]. His returns to feature in Tamil movies since the mid-1990s have often seen him collaborate with his friend Kamal Haasan, in ventures including the unreleased  [2002] Kanden Seethaiyai and [2005] Mumbai Xpress and he was also a celebrity RJ in Big FM.

Ramesh Aravind has earned and been nominated for numerous awards during his career, including winning two Awards Karnataka State Awards for Best Actor and Best Story Script in Hoomale and Filmfare Awards for Best Actor, as well as Suvarna TV and Udaya TV Awards.
