He has previously acted in Ye Hai Mohabbatein and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, as well as several other serials on Sony Entertainment Television, Colors TV, and Zee TV. He gained popularity by playing a weird geek scientist named Devendra in the show Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant & his chemistry with co-actor Neha Kaul in the show was well appreciated by the audience. Neel is also a gifted singer, guitarist & keyboard player.

He is well-known for playing the character of Neel Pathak in Yeh He Mohabbatein and KumKum Bhagya as Neil Thakur. Currently, you can see him in the latest comedy serial Bahu Hamari Rajnikant. He gained a lot of fame due to the serial Beintehaa on Colors TV,  in which he played the role of Rahim Qureshi. Neil Motwani is basically from Nagpur.
