Krishnakumar Kunnath was born 23 August 1968, popularly known as KK, K.K. or Kay Kay, is an Indian singer. He is a prominent singer in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films.

KK has a broad vocal range and is considered as one of the most versatile and influential singers of India. He is often called “The Mesmerizer” for his soulful voice. Some of his most popular songs are “Tadap Tadap Ke”, “Pal”, “Yaaron”, “Khuda Jaane”, “Ajab Si”, “Dus Bahaane”, “Dil Kyun Yeh Mera”, “Sach Keh Raha Hai Deewana”, “Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai”, “Tu Aashiqui Hai”, “Aashaayen”, “Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai”, “It’s The Time To Disco”, “Zara Si Dil Mein”, “Haan Tu Hain”, “Labon Ko”, “Kabhi Khusboo”, “Alvida”, “O Meri Jaan”, “Dil Ibadat”, “Make Some Noise For The Desi Boyz, “Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe”, “Main Tera Dhadkan Teri” etc.

Born in Delhi to Malayali parents C.S. Nair and Kanakavalli, Krishnakumar Kunnath was brought up in New Delhi. KK sang 3,500 jingles before breaking into Bollywood. He is an alumnus of Delhi’s Mount St Mary’s School. He sang in the “Josh of India” song for the support of the Indian Cricket Team during the Cricket World Cup of 1999.

KK married his childhood sweetheart Jyothi Krishna in 1991. His son Nakul Krishna sang the song “Masti” from his latest album Humsafar with him. KK also has a daughter named Taamara who, according to KK, loves playing the piano. KK says that his family is his source of energy.
